| Comments: | FOX-NY was derived from the NS-1 myeloma cell line. It is resistant to analogs of both adenosine and guanine e.g., 2,6-diaminopurine and 8-azaguanine as a result of deficiencies in hypoxanthine phosphoribosyl transferase HPRT, HGPRT and adenosine phosphoribosyl transferase APRT. When used as the immortal partner in a fusion using B cells from a female mouse with the Rb8.12 translocation, there is a positive selection for the immunoglobulin heavy chain locus.
